Civil war

Armed struggle between opposing groups within the same country. Although there is often military participation, it is called “civil” war because it is a conflict between parts of society, motivated by political, economic or religious reasons. In Brazil, several civil wars have already occurred. One was that of 1932, when the elites and part of the population of the state of Sao Paulo came into struggle with the government of Getúlio Vargas.
